Tipper Trailer Price: What Decides the Quote

A tipper trailer price comes down to body style — end-dump or side-tip — and body material, Q345B steel or Hardox 450 wear liner. Covers both our end-dump dump trailer and side tipper trailer lines.

Body Material Q345B or Hardox 450
Tipping Angle 45° end-dump / 50° side-tip
Axle Count 3-axle (tandem/tri)
Payload 34 – 50 Ton
Hydraulic tipper trailer dumping aggregate at a quarry

A tipper trailer price comes down to two decisions before anything else: end-dump or side-tip body style, and Q345B steel or Hardox 450 wear liner. Both choices are about matching the body to what you're actually hauling and how abrasive it is, not just picking the cheaper option on paper.

This covers both our end-dump dump trailer and our side tipper trailer — the same chassis platform underneath, different body and dumping mechanism.

End-Dump or Side-Tip Changes the Build

An end-dump tipping trailer lifts the body with a front-mounted hydraulic cylinder to a 45-degree angle — straightforward, and the standard choice for quarry and mine haul roads with room to reverse and tip. A side tipper trailer uses twin hydraulic rams to tip roughly 50 degrees on either flank without repositioning the rig, which cuts cycle time on narrow bench roads where a straight reverse-and-dump isn't practical. The side-tip mechanism costs more to build than a single front cylinder, which is the main price gap between the two body styles.

Body Material: Q345B Steel or Hardox 450

Q345B structural steel is the standard body material and holds up well for general aggregate, sand and construction debris. Hardox 450 wear-resistant liner on the floor and lower side panels costs more but extends service life significantly under continuous abrasive loads like crushed rock, ore or coal — the material that matters most is whichever your haul road actually puts through the body every day, not the toughest option available.

Axle Configuration and Payload

Both body styles run on a tandem or tri-axle FUWA/BPW bogie as standard. The end-dump build carries 40-50 tons; the side tipper's standard rating is 34 tons, stepping up to 45 tons on some configurations, with a quad-axle option available for higher-volume routes. Mechanical leaf spring suspension is standard for the rough haul roads both trailers usually run — air suspension is available for fleets that also travel sealed public roads.

FOB, CIF and Lead Time

We quote both incoterms — FOB to the port of loading, or CIF landed at your destination port with freight and insurance included. Landed cost under CIF varies by port, so tell us your destination and we'll confirm which works out better. For the full range, see our dump trailer and side tipper trailer pages, or the semi trailer price overview to compare against other trailer types.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is a side tipper more expensive than an end-dump tipper?

Generally yes — the twin hydraulic ram mechanism that lets a side tipper dump on either flank costs more to build than a single front-mounted cylinder. The tradeoff is faster cycle time on narrow haul roads where a side tipper doesn't need to reposition to dump.

Does Hardox change the price much?

Hardox 450 wear liner costs more than standard Q345B steel, but it extends body life under continuous abrasive loads like ore, coal or crushed rock. For general aggregate and construction debris, Q345B is usually the better value.

What payload should I spec?

End-dump tippers in our range run 40-50 tons; side tippers run 34-45 tons standard with a quad-axle option for more. Match the rating to your typical load plus margin, not your occasional heaviest one.

What's the delivery time?

Standard configurations typically ship 20-30 days from order confirmation. We quote CIF to most African, Middle Eastern and Southeast Asian ports.
