LPG Tanker Trailer

SIGMA builds this gas tanker trailer for sale as a pressure vessel unit for LPG, propane, and LNG road transport, engineered to ASME/GB150 pressure standards. The lpg tanker trailer ships in 40-59.6 m³ capacities on tridem axles, with full pressure relief, emergency shutoff, and vapor-tight fittings for cross-border delivery.

Overview

Each lpg semi trailer we manufacture is forged and tested as a smooth or welded pressure vessel rated up to 1.8 MPa, sized for propane, butane, or LPG mix cargo depending on the destination market's fuel blend. We also build the lng tanker trailer variant with a vacuum-insulated double-wall tank for cryogenic -162°C liquid natural gas, a different construction from standard LPG pressure tanks. Every propane tanker trailer order includes third-party hydrostatic and radiographic weld testing before export, plus a full manifold of top and bottom valves, pressure gauges, and a rupture disc sized to the destination country's transport code.

Features

  • ASME/GB150 certified pressure vessel construction
  • Emergency shutoff valves at all connection points
  • Pressure relief valve and rupture disc protection
  • Optional vacuum-insulated cryogenic LNG tank wall
  • Static grounding cable and flame arrestor
  • Third-party hydrostatic and radiographic weld testing
  • Anti-rollover discharge cutoff sensor
  • Rear underride guard and spill containment tray

Applications

  • LPG bottling plant to distributor delivery
  • Residential and commercial propane supply
  • Autogas (LPG vehicle fuel) station resupply
  • LNG terminal to industrial user transport
  • Cross-border gas trading logistics
  • Petrochemical plant feedstock transport

Pressure Vessel Design

This gas tanker trailer for sale is built around a smooth or welded pressure vessel rated to 1.6-1.8 MPa, sized from 40 to 59.6 cubic meters depending on the target payload and road weight limit in the destination country. Tank steel is 16MnDR or Q370R pressure-rated plate, radiographed at every weld seam before the vessel goes to hydrostatic test. Operators moving between gas and liquid fuel cargo on the same contract often pair this trailer with our Fuel Tanker Trailer, since both share the same tridem chassis and axle rating.

LPG vs LNG Configuration

Standard lpg tanker trailer units carry pressurized gas at ambient temperature, while the cryogenic LNG configuration uses a vacuum-insulated double-wall tank to hold liquid natural gas near -162°C without a full pressure vessel wall thickness. Both configurations share the same tridem running gear, air suspension, and 2-inch kingpin, so a fleet can standardize spare parts across a mixed LPG/LNG fleet. We size the manifold, valve count, and insulation package to the customer's terminal loading arm and destination climate before finalizing a quote, and can build alongside a Water Tanker Trailer for support-vehicle fleets at the same site.

Safety Systems and Compliance

Every propane tanker trailer ships with emergency shutoff valves at each hose connection, a spring-loaded pressure relief valve, and a rupture disc sized to the vessel's design pressure. A static grounding cable and flame arrestor come standard, along with an anti-rollover sensor that cuts the discharge pump if the trailer tips past a safe angle during unloading. Operators sourcing from us instead of buying used gas tanker trailers for sale get a fresh hydrostatic test certificate and full weld radiography report, which most used units on the resale market can no longer produce. We also build the Cement Tanker Trailer and Bitumen Tanker Trailer on request for operators expanding into dry bulk and asphalt hauling.

Export and Certification

We quote this unit by tank volume, design pressure, and insulation package, with standard lead time at 40-50 days given the additional pressure-vessel inspection steps versus an atmospheric tanker. Each trailer ships with a third-party pressure test certificate, weld radiography report, and valve manifold schematic for import customs and gas authority registration in the destination country. We also offer flatbed transport for spare tank shells and fittings via our Flatbed Semi Trailer line when customers order bulk spare parts alongside a new pressure vessel trailer.
