A Deck Built for Loading From Any Side

A construction materials hauler in South Africa needed an open flatbed trailer that could take steel, pipe and machinery from a forklift, crane or ramp without side walls in the way, with removable stake-side boards to cover lighter loose cargo when the route called for it.

Removable Side Boards, Lifted Off the Line

In the workshop, an overhead crane lifted the yellow stake-side boards clear of the assembled chassis ahead of packing. The boards bolt onto the rail rather than weld on, which is what makes it possible to strip a unit back down to a bare deck for shipping instead of sending it out fully built.

Knocking the Trailers Down to Fit a Container

Rather than ship the batch assembled as breakbulk or RoRo cargo, SIGMA broke each unit down to chassis, axles and side boards and packed the components into a standard shipping container. For a destination as far as South Africa, that cuts the sea-freight bill well below what an assembled trailer would cost to move, and the buyer reassembles using the same bolted connections the parts left the factory with.

Yard Staging Before Loadout

The full batch staged in the yard ahead of loadout — Q345B I-beam chassis and stake-side panels queued in rows, stake pockets and lashing rings already fitted down both rails so reassembly on arrival doesn't need any drilling or fabrication on site.

Landing Ready to Reassemble

Knocked-down shipping means the customer's own crew can bolt the side boards back on and have trailers earning revenue within days of the container clearing customs, instead of waiting on a longer breakbulk shipping slot for assembled units.
